WHISKEY BOTTLE tipped on its side. Empty coffee cups. Balled-up PAGES covered in smeared chicken-scratch. Harried, exhausted, wrists and fingers aching, bleary eyes bloodshot, THE SCREENWRITER stares, deranged, at a BLINKING CURSOR on a blank, EMPTY PAGE. Brain fried after the two-hundred-seventeenth general meeting. Desperate for reprieve. For sustenance. Taking pitches. Hearing takes. No development money, but they’d be happy to option a book or a newspaper article. If only someone out there understood. But maybe, just maybe — someone does...

We have all been to those interminable meetings, producers, executives, agents, or "evangelists" pontificating on an insane and inane idea that will nevertheless make millions (but, you know, with other people at the helm) -- and if we haven't, we have heard whispers, myths, and legends.
